Our story
Born on the beaches of Sanibel Island.
Sanibel Island sits on Florida's Gulf Coast at a slight angle to the shoreline — and that small geographic quirk changes everything. The island acts like a natural comb, catching shells, sea glass, and other treasures carried by the Gulf's longshore current from hundreds of miles away. It's why Sanibel is consistently rated one of the top shelling beaches in the world. And it's why we set up shop here.
We spend our mornings on those beaches — usually at low tide, usually early, often right after a storm has stirred things up overnight. We're looking for sea glass: the smooth, frosted pieces of old bottles and jars that have been tumbling in Gulf water long enough to lose their edges and develop that characteristic matte surface. Some of the pieces we find are likely over a hundred years old, traced back to medicine bottles and ship cargo from the early 1900s.
We started selling because people kept asking. Friends, then friends of friends, then strangers who found us online. There's something about holding a piece of genuine sea glass — the warmth of it, the weight, the way it catches light — that's hard to explain and easy to fall in love with. We figured we'd share it.
Everything ships from Florida. Orders are packed carefully — sea glass in bubble wrap, sand dollars in padded boxes. If you want a handwritten gift note included, just leave a message at checkout.
We're a small operation and we like it that way. It means we know every piece that goes out the door. It means when you email us, you hear back from an actual person the same day. And it means when the cobalt blue sells out, it's gone until we get back out to the beach.
Thanks for being here. It genuinely means a lot.
